Brief Biographical Sketch:
I was born in 1989, and have lived most of my life in Andover, Massachusetts. I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Chicago double-majoring in economics and political science. My father is a senior scientist for a pharmaceutical company, and my mother was trained as an engineer though she is currently a homemaker. Both are taken somewhat aback by my interest in the social sciences. My interests outside of school include piano (though I haven't practiced regularly in some time), video games, martial arts, and collecting weapons. I also enjoy reading history, and keep up with my academic (major-related) interests via blogs and news services, though I often don't have the time to do thorough readings. The topic of healthcare has become one of today's hot-button issues. Unfortunately, the discourse has been muddled by rhetoric rather than a clear framing of the problems facing the economy and basic considerations of coverage.
Come here for a clear, lucid discussion of the economic realities of healthcare.
