Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hello! I'm Lisa, and I'm an undergraduate in Biology at the U of C. I taught at Splash! last year on Evolutionary Psychology.

My primary fields of interest are biomechanics and neuroscience and I work in the Ross Lab as a Research Assistant. I also enjoy photography and journalism -- I'm in the Chicago Weekly, and you might see some issues of it around Hyde Park. I am looking forward to a new experience with Splash this year!

A245: Introductory Photography in Splash! 2008 (Oct. 04, 2008)
Are your pictures always blurry and dark? Do you wonder how you can learn to take better photos? Introductory Photography will focus on both basic photography techniques and some background on the history of photography. We will go over some photographic composition elements -- things that make a photo look good to the eye. We'll also go over how different photos are made -- from gelatin-silver prints to 35mm film to DSLRs. This is oriented towards the beginning photographer. Students will have turns taking pictures outside the classroom, and the pictures will be emailed to the student if the student chooses. Space is limited to 5 per class. Students may feel free to bring cameras or prints of photos they've already taken.
