Brief Biographical Sketch:
I am a twenty-year-old poet, specializing in the experimental forms of conceptual, sound, and non-intentional poetry. I started writing poetry in seventh grade and haven't quit since. I love math, and would love nothing more than to become a professor of math and poetry, as I believe the two are tied together in such a pure form that people refuse to believe it. I've composed five books of poetry, twenty-six collections of poetry, numerous essays on poetry and poetics, and more poems than I care to count. Less than a handful are published, as I am more interested in writing than actively pursuing publishing. Oh, I also love sports! This course is designed to be a crash course in avant-garde poetry. In particular, the experimental forms of conceptual, sound, and non-intentional poetry. The course will try to introduce poets and poetic practices usually not taught to high schoolers to give them a much deeper background into poetics, and specifically modern ideas of poetry.
