Brief Biographical Sketch:
Jake Howry is a fourth year Political Science and Laws, Letters and Society double major at the University of Chicago. His area of expertise is the South East Asian Highlands with a focus on internal conflicts. When not studying small scale warfare and other generally terrifying topics, Jake likes to watch old movies, read comic books and hang out. His past is otherwise a complete mystery so please stop trying to google him (that's a different person anyway and they have no relation). He has been called the Soul of the Age but was Shakespeare actually Shakespeare? William Shakespeare is the author of 37 plays, over a 150 sonnets and epic poems, inventor of more then 1700 words in the English language. The most performed playwright of all time and yet not a single document exists in his own hand. This class will examine the authorship question delving into aspects of Oxfordian Theory and its fringe counterparts Prince Tudor and Prince Tudor II.

A course about writing creatively without giving a damn. The focus will be on crafting interesting characters and narrative with fun writing tips stolen from the likes of Charles Bukowski, Stephen King and Elmore Leonard. Because everyone has a story and the rest is presentation. Mature themes will be covered.
