Author Haruki Murakami is known worldwide for his surreal narratives and clever, poignant prose - from disembodied visions of the self to an other dimensional Sheep-Man. But in the midst of all the strange and all the confused, how does the author write about love? Love, a complex and incomprehensible idea, concept,... thing. What can we learn from Murakami? How does Murakami portray love in his stories and what can we gain from studying love through Murakami's particular lens?

Love reading comics? Ever wanted to write them? Well then, whether you love drawing Batman, reading manga, or picking out the funnies in the newspaper, then this is the class for you! In this class we will learn about the basics of graphic narrative/sequential art (fancy names for comic art) and then put it into practice by drawing our own comics!

Come and learn the basics of writing and drawing a comic. You will learn about various essential concepts from panel design to inking. In class, you will learn various techniques regarding the development of a comic; then, you will get the chance to write your very own short comic!
